Wellbeing is impacted by more than just our physical health - it is influenced by social, emotional, spiritual, political and economic factors. Emily has worked with Australian Government and private organisations to transform the way we understand and approach 'wellbeing' to align with the World Health Organisation's Bio-Psychosocial-Spiritual model of care.
Our healthcare system should be focused on prevention rather than primarily treatment. This includes using lifestyle programs that support our healthcare and social sectors to encourage our population to participate in preventative behaviours, such as healthy eating, exercise and social connection. Emily has worked with organisations across Australia to design and implement programs that seek to prevent illness from occurring and/or deteriorating.
Using the Social Determinants of Health as a foundation, Emily has worked with private and public sectors to design and deliver policies and services that seek to reduce the inequalities experienced in health outcomes across the Australian population. This includes addressing access to care through innovative solutions such as digital health.
