From the outside, you can assume that I have had a healthy life - I eat well, exercise, have strong community connections and love my work. However, I have only arrived at this point because I have had a lifetime of health challenges, including obesity, eating disorders, depression, bradycardia and autoimmune diseases.
My annoying obsession with 'needing to know why' has been my lifeboat. Using my own experience as the subject of my research, I have spent over a decade of trying to understand why my health conditions have occurred and how to improve them. Along my journey, I have come across the work of 'longevity' and 'prevention' doctors, including Dr. Peter Attia, Dr. Daniel Amen and Dr. Andrew Huberman. Their work has influenced my entire being and drastically improved my quality of life.
I feel a moral imperative to share my journey and help people achieve an improved quality of life. This is why I work with the public and private sectors to change legislation and policies, design strategies and implement programs that intend to improve the health and wellbeing of the entire population. This website exists to encourage greater participation to improving global health and wellbeing.
I know how powerful the tools of wellbeing such as nutrition, exercise and social connection, are on your health, both physical and mental. However, your ability to access these tools is influenced by economic, political, social and environmental factors - if you do not have a stable job, secure housing and a safe community, for example, you will struggle to access healthy food, have time to exercise and feel safe to socialise. Similarly, where you live, your identity and economic situation will influence your ability to access quality health and social care. If you identify as LGBTIQA+, for example, there is a 40% chance you will experience discrimination in the healthcare setting
(Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, 2023).
These factors result in significant discrepancy in how 'healthy' people are across the globe. Being healthy is a fundamental human right, and I am dedicated to helping achieve health equity for all.
After every brush with death I have had, my mind becomes more alive. My will to live with passion only grows stronger. That's why I live fully, passionately and with obsession running in my veins.
I have an obsession with improving the health and wellbeing of those across the globe, and my entire being is dedicated to contribute to this cause. My mind cannot escape from my passions of:
I have created this website to help drive the agenda for these areas and achieve greater global impact.
